"I've been taking lessons from Mark over FaceTime for about two months now and I can already see a huge difference! Mark does an amazing job at explaining the reason all the vocal exercises are important and how they pertain to the particular style of music that i'm trying to write and sing. I always had the idea that I was stuck with the limited voice I had and there was nothing that was going to change that. However, Mark has completely dispelled that belief in a short period of time. The best part is, I don't even have to be in Seattle to benefit from Mark's teaching. FaceTime lessons have proven to be very effective and I really don't see a difference from a face-to-face lesson. Thank you for being an amazing voice teacher, Mark!"

A Letter From The Parents of Samantha and Jackson Murphy

We have enjoyed both our children, Samantha and Jackson Murphy, taking vocal lessons from Mark for a number of years; both starting in 8th grade; Samantha in 2014, Jackson in 2017.
Beyond the incredible progress both have made in their vocal abilities, most impressive was their obvious joy derived from vocal expression. Innate talent may exist in many, but Mark has the ability to draw that out of his students, most importantly by developing mutual trust and respect with his students. That trust and respect allows for honest and frank communication and constructive review and advice, instilling confidence not disappointment in the inevitable setbacks and challenges the student will experience along the way.

That journey has been remarkable for both of our children as they have participated in the Kings Schools drama program, taking on challenging roles that required both vocal and comic abilities. But that participation has meant much more; confidence, respect, empathy, teamwork, leadership, curiosity, a desire to challenge themselves, and broadening of their artistic interests and talent.

It all started with two somewhat shy and introverted young junior high students who found a spark in their vocal lessons with Mark. Their transformations from back in 8th grade have been remarkable. As parents it has been both a joy to observe our kids mature and blossom through their high school years working with Mark, as well as he and his wife becoming our friends. While Sammy is off at college and entering her junior year, she continues to work with Mark and considers him a trusted advisor and counsel to this day.

Claire Hosterman, Singer & Vocal Instructor

"Mark Power is the reason I sing today. Without him, I would not have discovered my voice or have had the courage or tools to grow my voice on my own and become my own teacher. His sensitivity, insight, talent for teaching and large heart are gifts to every student lucky enough to work with him. He mentored me and my sister--Disney star and singer Dove Cameron--from young ages, and today we are both thriving as singers. I would recommend Mark to anyone looking to expand their voice, and to bring it to the next level."

A Letter From The Popp Parents

"Our 16 year old daughter has taken both Mark’s intensives and lessons. She could hear and “feel” the difference in her singing. Mark helped bring out her best, and boosted her confidence. She could sing higher/lower than she thought.  His enthusiasm, support and constructive critiques helped her develop her voice. After just one session with Mark, she could hear the difference and felt more confident. We would highly recommend Mark if you have an aspiring singer in the family! Mark and Kathleen are so welcoming - you feel like you are part of their family which helps kids (and adults) feel more free to stretch, grow, and take vocal risks."
